Opportunities scholarships for Studies
Under the U.S. government Fulbright Program, grants are awarded to scholars of African universities to undertake projects of post-doctoral research or program planning Study and research in a university or research institute in the United States for one academic year. The research projects for doctoral theses or those of general programs for single professional visits are not allowed.Conditions and Selection
The scholarships are open in all respects with academic specialties, grade, gender, or age. Preference is given to projects that best reflect the spirit and purpose of the Fulbright program is ie strengthening mutual understanding between U.S. and African countries through personal contacts, professional and academic exchanges with a wide audience as possible. Priority will be given to applicants who demonstrate at least three years of university teaching, and whose proposed research projects are directly from their previous research or their university courses. The priority is not given to candidates who stay in the U.S. for over a month during the past five years. Good knowledge of written and spoken English is mandatory. Candidates must be citizens of countries of origin.
a) Research Grants (Lasting from three to nine under)
Priority will be given to candidates who demonstrate at least three years of university teaching, and whose research projects proposed under their previous research or their university courses
b) Professional Development (lasting three to five months)
Priority will be given to candidates who demonstrate at least three years of university education and whose projects aim to develop knowledge and scientific development of academic courses in African universities
c) SPECIAL HIV / AIDS AND STOCK RESEARCH ON AIDS
Individuals can apply for these grants through either research or professional development programs. Projects must be focused on research and / or professional development with HIV / AIDS. Grants are available in a wide range of disciplines including: sociology and social work, anthropology, education, economics, law, public administration, communications, Art Theater; Medical Sciences, Biological Sciences , and psychology.
Junior Fubright
The Fulbright Junior Staff Development " (JSD) is the largest Fulbright program with Africa and provides financial assistance for a maximum of two years of study leading to a graduate degree at an American university or a degree of participation in university research or an academic career. It is intended primarily to strengthen African universities through higher degree training for faculty. Applications from potential candidates for public and private educational and cultural institutions are also accepted.
A. Applicants must be academically qualified and eligible for the Traditional Program "JD," a minimum knowledge of English required for the selection of skills is 550 JSD. We strongly recommend that applicants also take the GRE test.
B. Candidates should have good academic records, references and preparation in their chosen fields.
C. It is necessary to do early testing of TOEFL and GRE scores to be available in due course.
D. We also recommend that in preparation for the TOEFL official candidates to practice TOEFL tests that are available online.
Hubert Humphrey
This scholarship provides support for one academic year, preceded, if appropriate, by the formation of English. The program includes practical courses combined with enriched professional activities tailored to the interests of each fellow. The Humphrey fellowship is a program that does not issue a diploma upon completion of the program.
Fellows are grouped in the host institutions of the United States who were selected through a competitive process. Coordinators and advisors to provide Humphrey academic and administrative support for each fellow on the design and implementation of individualized program. Fellows attend a conference in Washington, DC to engage in discussions with officials from the U.S. government, multinational agencies, and private sector. Throughout the year, Fellows pursue a variety of professional activities, including site visits and workshops.
RECRUITMENT OF CANDIDATES ELIGIBLE
- Candidates must be professional managers in positions of leadership and have a commitment in the public sector and opportunities for career advancement.
- They must have a minimum of five years of professional experience.
- Applicants must have completed a university degree of at least four years of full-time study.
- Applicants must be proficient in written and spoken English with a minimum English language test (TOEFL) score of 525.
- Candidates Interested parties can contact and remove the form to the U.S. embassy, situated Colonel Lukusa Avenue, opposite the Shell station, Commune de la Gombe, from the month of February up to April 2008: Monday Thursdays from 7:30 to 12: 00 and 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Friday from 7:30 to 12:00. Application forms must be completed and returned to the U.S. Embassy no later than May 15, 2008.
- By mid-July, the applicants selected by the American Cultural Center will be interviewed.
If you are not a citizen of the Democratic Republic Congo, you can not participate in this program through the Embassy or the American Cultural Center in Kinshasa. You should contact the Public Affairs Section of the Embassy of the United States in your country whether your country participates in this program.
