  1. Scope of awards: University Scholarships: The university scholarships are for students from all countries on the list. These scholarships are only valid for 10 Swiss universities and two Federal Institutes .

  2. Duration and amount of the scholarship The scholarship is for one academic year of nine months. Scholarships for postgraduate courses or Masters which last up to 2 years (3 or 4 semesters) may be extended subject to the results of the first year.
    The monthly stipend is:

    The Federal Commission for Scholarships does not support the finances of current and / or semester fees. In principle, universities and the ETH Zürich exempt the stock of federal taxes semester (~ CHF 600 per semester) but no systematic registration fees Masters programs.   3. Award Scholarship Awards are offered in principle to foreign governments. Applications are subject to a preliminary selection of appropriate national authorities and / or the Swiss embassy. The Swiss embassy forwards selected applications to the Federal Commission for Scholarships for Foreign Students (FCS), which makes the final selection. The FCS consists of Swiss universities. She decides to award scholarships based on criteria of academic and scientific excellence.
